About Chris Heijens Design
Born in 1961 in Amsterdam. Lives & works in Salvador da Bahia (Brazil), Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and Montaigu de Quercy (France). When I was 4 years old my parents gave me my first toolbox. I helplessly fell in love. Building and creating new, never made before, practical, curious or just beautiful objects is highly addictive. Over the years I experimented with all sorts of available stock-parts, materials and techniques. For interior design I still prefer wood for its inherent beauty and machinability. Nowadays living in three countries, with three different setups, toolsets and cultural inheritances, drawing and building is even more inspiring.
